Search Engine Optimization Tips

So I thought about starting a small band. I mean I do live in Austin so it's a given that this would happen. However, I can't give up my day job and want to make sure that I create a website that's doing work for me that I may not be able to do. Such as getting my bands name out there. I've done some research and thought I'd share some tips in how it relates to my band "The Thrashers." So now for some search engine optimization tips for an Austin punk band:

1. I need to know my target audience. Well it's more 70s punk than the often overused "alternative" brand. I in my 30's realize that there are people during my generation that appreciate that era and the music it produced but I also know living in a primarily college town that I could market to a decent amount of UT students as well.

2. Use the right keywords. This was a tricky one for me so I used the assistance of sites like Google and Yahoo that both have free tools that give you key word suggestions (e.g., Google Adwords). I think Austin punk band is a good start. But just incase a site such as Wordtracker.com can help me with the keywords I choose.

3. Oh how important a title tag can be. I didn't realize this till I read several articles on search engine results page and how my title has be good enough for people to want to click on it.

So I know my audience and I'm working towards figuring out what words potential fans of punk music are searching for. It's a good start. I also am learning that search engine optimization is tougher than I thought and it's going to take more thought than I had anticipated.

I'm looking forward to the challenge. Austin search engine optimization website offers more tips on developing and improving your website

Interactive Marketing In An Unsteady Market

In this funky economy I'm trying to find more affordable ways to market my website. Traditional marketers are including email, search engine marketing, and online advertising in their marketing techniques. I found that using search engines such as Google, MSN, and Yahoo have been helpful. But mostly using online social websites for business connections I found has been helpful.

I've recently discovered MySpace and Facebook and found like minded people starting businesses online. I also found that I can use YouTube for more than just watching music videos...I can market my business by making my own video and podcast and get ideas from other small businesses on YouTube.

Living in Austin TX has helped me to be more creative. Being that this is the LIVE MUSIC captiol I often check out YouTube for new bands and alternative music, mainly progressive funk. This artistic side of myself has helped me to be more creative in my interactive marketing in Austin endevors.

Maybe something good has come out of the dot.com boom. Marketing has become more creative. Popular search engines are using creative ways to allow businesses to market their products and services. Plus us new kids on the block are able to remember what to do and not do when marketing our business online.

I'm curious what others are finding has been helpful during the economic crisis. Money is tight I'd love some ideas from others that are willing to share.

Website Optimization in Austin

Austin is not just known for its live music scene but a great place to buy a home, start a business, and improve your business.

Austin survived the dot.com bust and still attracts new businesses. What a great opportunity to take advantage of what Austin has to offer in terms of technological resources.

As I start to collect information and think of ways to create and design my website I'm reminded at the bare minimum that once a potential consumer goes to my site the first few words should be simple, to the point, and grab the reader to want to learn more. Part of me feels if I remember this simple rule I won't fail. But I'm learning it takes more than that.

Well turns out it's not that simple but if I follow some standard rules I can navigate my way through getting the word out about my website.

First, I'm going to check out some of the networking sites I belong to like LinkedIn and see if I can promote my website there. I also want to see if major search engines like Yahoo and Google allow me to submit my URL for free. Also, I know a lot about the services I provide so if I write about what I know to one of those free article websites like Ezinearticles I can also include my website URL if people want to know what I do. I also think that, as I write, I could create a blog about the topics that I find exciting and create a way to communicate with other similar business or people interested in what I have to offer.

A blog that I frequently reference and keep up with focuses on Austin website optimization and search engine optimization in Austin, Texas.

Promoting my website has become paramount to my business at this time. Utilizing websites that help me get closer to my goal has been important for my business. A website that I have utilized for blogs, helpful tips and services has focused on website optimization Austin and has given me great tips on reaching customers online, building backlinks, and SEO Austin tips.
